Arisman Design Studio offers a full range of design, layout, and production services for the print media. Judy Arisman is accomplished in both cover and text design. She knows the language of typography, she designs books and cd packaging with an intuitive, elegant style. The following describes the process of completing a project.

Design: In designing the book interior, Judy aims for readability and a unique presentation. PDF sample pages are sent and reviewed with the client. During this time, the cover is designed that interprets the author's intent through metaphor, color and typography.

Typesetting/page layout: The final, edited manuscript is sent to Judy for page makeup. Using traditional layout and typesetting standards, front-matter, end-matter, and chapters, etc are laid out page by page adhering to the approved design. A proof of these pages is sent to client for proofreading and approval.

Digital Illustration: Balancing color, imagery and typography, Judy has used her digital illustration skills as a way to create original, artistic narratives for covers. See samples of her work under Illustration.

Photo/art research: Clients may need photo/art research to find an image for their cover. Judy has many years of experience with photo agencies with an understanding of "rights for use". She is adept at quickly finding the right expression and tone of imagery for the cover's marketability.
